Our playgroup aims to:
We recognise that every child is a unique child who is a competent learner from birth, who can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured.
We understand that as your child begins playgroup it is important to help build their confidence to separate from yourself and settle well.
To support the children we have a key-person system in place whereby your child is allocated a staff member to be their key contact person. They are responsible for their daily needs and building a positive relationship with them and you.
The key person will observe your child as they play and interact in everyday situations and planned activities. They will liaise with you to stay informed about what they do at home and this will enable us to plan for your child's next steps in their learning.
The early years foundation stage (EYFS) is the framework we operate and during each session we offer a balance of adult/child initiated activities valuing their interests, including:
- Provide high quality care and rich learning opportunities through play and playful teaching.
- Work in partnership with parents to supprt each child's learning and development
- Add to the life and well-being of our local community
- Offer an enabling environment in which we value all people and promote the value of learning
