
Long Whatton Playgroup is a voluntary committee run Playgroup which opened in 1973. Since 2009 we are located in the Methodist Church in Long Whatton. A short walk from the local primary school, with which we have excellent links.
Our Playgroup is an Ofsted registered group, as of May 2019 Long Whatton playgroup hold an Ofsted rating of Good, you can find the full ofsted report at https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/16/EY393868 and we are on the Early Years Register.
We can accomodate up to 18 children each day, from 2 years old to school age. The Playgroup provides funded early years education for 2 to 4 year old children.
Our Playgroup has sole use of the premises each session. It is spacious with two bright and colourful rooms, a kitchen, two large toilet facilities and a small cloak room area. The large main church room is divided into areas for role-play, book corner and physical play.
Our secure outdoor area is grassed, with a large sand pit, artificial grass as well as a covered area and a mud kitchen We offer a stimulating environment, with all our activities linked to each child’s individual interests, learning and development.
